Screening of Taak & Humans in the loop

Greetings from the Cinephile Film Club. 

This Wednesday, 23rd Apr at 6.30 pm, we are presenting a double bill of a short and a feature film, for which the filmmakers will be present for a Q&A. 

First, we will screen the short film Taak (Tracker, 39 mins) directed by Udit Khurana. The film revolves around Shalini (Jyoti Dogra), a former wrestler who works as a bouncer in a Delhi nightclub. Life is tough for her, and then an incident occurs, throwing the spotlight on surveillance. At the recent Critics' Choice Awards, the film had 4 nominations and a win for Jyoti Dogra as Best Actress. 

This will be followed by Humans in the Loop (70 mins) directed by Aranya Sahay. Inspired by true stories of women, the film is about a divorced Adivasi woman who works for an A.I. labelling company in Jharkhand. The film was screened at MAMI and at the recent Bengaluru Film Festival, it won the FIPRESCI award for Best Indian Film. 

Both the directors, Udit Khurana and Aranya Sahay will be present for the screening, which will be followed by a Q&A moderated by Sachin Chatte.
