Screening of 'The Producers'

Greetings from the Cinephile Film Club -

With Mel Brooks turning 100 recently, this Thursday, 6th Aug at 6.30 pm, Sachin Chatte will host the screening of The Producers (1967, 88 mins), ranked as one of the greatest comedies ever made.  

Written and directed by Mel Brooks, the film won the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay. Gene Wilder stars as an accountant who teams up with a Broadway producer in a scheme to embezzle money by staging what they believe will be a guaranteed flop. Their plan, however, takes an unexpected turn. While the film received mixed reviews on its initial release, it gradually found an appreciative audience and has since become a beloved cult classic.

The membership for the film club is open.
