Greetings from the Cinephile Film Club.

As a tribute to legendary Goan cinematographer K. Vaikunth on his birth centenary, the Cinephile Film Club has organized a special program on Saturday, 20th September at 5.30 pm, with a discussion on his work and a screening of Gulzar’s Aandhi
During his illustrious career, Vaikunth worked with Ramesh Sippy on Andaz & Seeta aur Geeta, and with directors like Ramanand Sagar and Manmohan Desai, among others. But his association with Gulzar on films like Parichay, Koshish, Achanak, Mausam, Khushboo, and Aandhi stands out. A session with Pavan Jha, a well-known film historian and commentator on cinema, will precede the screening of Aandhi.
With decades of experience in researching and archiving film history and his very close association with Gulzar, Jha will provide rare insights into K. Vaikunth's legacy and the making of Aandhi. The film has Suchitra Sen and Sanjeev Kumar in the lead roles, with timeless classics by Gulzar and R.D. Burman.
Amit Kunkolienkar, son of K Vaikunth, will also be present for the program. The event is free and open to all on a first-come, first-served basis.
