Greetings from the Cinephile Film Club!
This Thursday, 22nd January at 6:30 pm, Sachin Chatte will host the screening of The Bridge at Remagen (1969, English, 1hr 53 mins).
Inspired by true events and based on the non-fiction book of the same name, the film is set during the last days of WWII when the Allied forces were approaching a critical point to enter Berlin. Shot splendidly in Panavision (widescreen), the film is directed by John Guillermin (The Towering Inferno, King Kong, Death on the Nile), and stars George Segal and Robert Vaughn in the lead roles. Sriram Raghavan's Ikkis has a nod to it, and it is considered one of the best war films, and like every good war film, it is also an anti-war film.
Regards,
