Pramil was the enfant-terrible of modern Tamil writing. His poetry and prose
in this language had given it a capability for modern in-depth usage, a
dimension thought not possible in Tamil by the traditional anti-Tamil
intelligentia.

Starting his life as a painter and sculptor he later began to write New
poetry and literary criticism  establishing himself as a writer with
penetrating analytical powers and imagination. He was given the
Pudumai- Pitthan award in 1995. His works were recognized and lauded in many
circles.

To celebrate the beginning of the 70th birth anniversary, a series of events
are organized at the Alliance Francaise of Madras to commemorate this great
poet. The events include a photography and painting exhibition on the poet
