2011 year end miscellany
Dave Weiner - Brass Arts
It has been a very diverse and interesting year, here. I continue to
work on getting out more sheet music publications. Once I get the
cover art settled, I will have 4 new publications arranged by Jason
Wyse. More on that later.
I plan to develop some improvements in the repair shop this upcoming
year. Related to that, the renovation post-flood is going slowly, so
I ask all who come to the shop to please be patient.
I encourage everyone to visit www.hornmatters.com. It is the best
online horn magazine, in my opinion. Of course, that opinion is not
un-biased, since I am a regular contributor of articles on repair and
maintenance, as well as my feature, "Ask Dave!"
This past year saw the accidental birth of what must be the most
popular horn group on Facebook, Horn People. I started it by trying
to segregate horn friends from other family and friends, and within
hours hundreds of new horn friends were joining. We are now almost
1,400 strong and it is a very active group. I welcome all Facebook
users to search for Horn People and ask to join, if you have not
already done so.
