START A CHESS CLUB AT YOUR SCHOOL
YOU CAN DO IT

Just a few years ago, the majority of elementary schools in Whatcom County had a chess club.  Then Covid arrived, two active chess club organizers moved away, and currently the number of clubs is growing but there's a shortage of clubs.  Or, to be more precise, a shortage of chess club organizers.

You can start a club at your child's elementary school!  No chess knowledge needed!  Check out the parent's story below.  Excerpts: "I did not have the slightest idea how to go about starting a club."  "All you really need is the desire to get started. The rest will almost take care of itself."
