SOCCER AND CHESS TOURNAMENT AT THE SAME TIME?
DO BOTHIf your student wants to play in the Eagleridge Battle Royale this Saturday, but also has soccer (or other), here's how you can do both.
Players can miss as many chess tournament rounds as they need to, and still play in the remaining rounds. If the student misses one or two rounds, they will get a
free half point (equivalent of a tie, or draw) for each round they miss. If missing more than two rounds, zero points for those rounds. When you register, just inform the tournament director which rounds you'll be missing.
To see if you can do both this Saturday, here's the schedule for the Eagleridge Battle Royale on Saturday April 18. Most games finish within 40 minutes of starting.
