hello! I am sending you this email because you are or may know a woman.  Forgive me if you have already received this information, but I have just learned about this amazing movement and really really wanted to spread the word as quickly as possible, and ask you to do the same.

The Army of Women will change how, what, and how quickly we learn about breast cancer, here's how:

Women who are interested register on the Love/Avon Army of Women website, providing very basic information such as name, age, city, and state of residence. Army of Women members will receive email updates from the Love/Avon Army of Women announcing new research studies looking for volunteers just like you. The email will detail the research project and who and what the researchers need. If you fit the criteria and you’d like to participate, all you need to do is reply to the email and let us know you’ve accepted our “Call to Action.” If you accept the Call to Action, you will be contacted by an Army of Women staff member, who will make sure you meet the study criteria and answer any questions you might have about study participation. You will never be pressured to take part in any study. The decision to take part is yours — and yours alone. If you meet the study criteria and are interested in taking part, the Army of Women staff member will let you know what you need to do next.

The Love/Avon Army of Women offers a revolutionary new opportunity for YOU to partner with research scientists to move us beyond a cure.

Breast cancer has been around for decades, but it does not have to be our future. We can be the generation that eliminates breast cancer by identifying what causes this disease and stopping it before it starts. This is your chance to be part of the research that will end breast cancer. Sign up for your sister, mother, daughter, granddaughter, best friend, and the woman you met last week.  More than 200,000 women are diagnosed with breast cancer in the United States each year, and more than 40,000 will die from the disease this year alone. The Dr. Susan Love Research Foundation is the leading resource for information about breast cancer and women’s health. On the website you will find information about the latest news in breast cancer prevention, detection, and treatment as well as the specific issues and concerns of long-term survivors.

I know some of you think we are crazy every time Chris and I walk 60 miles in the Breast Cancer 3Day, some of you are intimidated  by the fund raising needed to participate in that or other events. But this is something completely different- making it easier for research to move forward to finding answers about breast cancer.  Normally, scientists work in a research laboratory, not in a clinical setting. As a result, it is very hard and time consuming for them to recruit women for their research studies, and this can delay the start or progress of their work. The Army of Women removes this barrier by providing scientists with an easy and direct way to find the volunteers they need for their studies.

Please- visit the website, then tell your friends:  http://www.armyofwomen.org

Thank you so much!!!!!
