Labour day swim: Takapuna to Narrowneck

Hi all,

Just to follow up from the Massimo's chat, here is the proposed plan.

Low tide is approx 7.30am, so the tide will be behind us. Will review the weather in the morning and text around if it is NOT on.

Meet at Narrowneck parking area just across from the beach on Monday at 8am. Leave as many cars as possible and shuttle back up to Takapuna, dropping option 1 swimmers off first. 

Option 1

Depart Clifton Road (south end) of Taka beach, and swim out to buoy 5. Rendezvous with option 2 swimmers - possibly at tall green marker post between Cable Buoy and Narrowneck, but to be confirmed by someone with a better idea of timings and navigation!

Option 2

Depart Taka Toilet block, swim along buoys, then south to Narrowneck, hopefully meeting the other group along the way.

Finish up at Narrowneck. Can either shower at my place, or at Narrowneck beach, where there is a changing block and outdoor showers at either end of the beach.  

All welcome back at my place for a casual breakfast. Nothing fancy, so no need to RSVP etc, will make it up as I go along. People with cars left at Taka can get a lift back as most people will be heading north.  Anyone not swimming and wanting to meet at mine, suggest meeting at 10am, with approx arrival at Narrowneck beach of 9.45.

From Narrowneck beach, follow Wairoa Road past squash club and golf course on the right. Ascot Ave is about 800m along on the left, and our house is third on the left.
