Whatcom All-ages Arts and Music (WhAAM) is holding a community meeting to update the public about its activities, solicit board members, and elect a new board of directors


6PM - State of the WhAAM 2009

The WhAAM board and staff will present an overview of our activities for the 2008-2009 year followed by a Q&A and Comments period.

If you are interested in learning about what we've been up to or would like to provide some feedback in person, please attend this meeting.  This is your chance to tell the WhAAM board what the community would like from the organization.

7PM - Board Elections
It's time to elect a new board!  All candidates are up for re-election and there are open positions as well.  We are looking to revitalize the organization through an influx of new talent.

Nominees for the 2009-2010 board will be given a chance to vouch for why they should be elected to the new board and elections will follow.

Do you have skills WhAAM could use?  Do you care about all-ages music?  Do you have some free time?  Consider joining our board.

WhAAM is an all-volunteer organization.  Everyone from our sound engineers to our board members serve without compensation.  Each one of those individuals does their part to support the organization and steer its direction.

WhAAM is accomplishing its mission in Bellingham.  WhAAM holds more than 50 concerts in Bellingham each year that are safe, substance-free and open to people of all ages.  This is more than any other off-campus organization.  When WhAAM began in 2005, there were few options for all-ages music.  Since that time, other venues have come and gone, but WhAAM has consistently provided great concerts profiling regional and national musicians, exposing a new generation of young people to culture while providing an alternative to risky behaviors.

If you believe that it is important for this service to continue in Bellingham, please consider nominating yourself for membership on the WhAAM board.  We need people who have the knowledge and the time to organize fund raising, promote the organization within the community, network, prioritize funding, and dictate the content of its events and programs.
