Greetings of the day!

 

HVS is the world’s best-known hospitality consulting company and is considered to be the global gold standard on Hospitality Advisory, with over 300 industry experts spread over 50 offices in 12 countries.

In India, HVS has set up a JV with ANAROCK group for the South Asia region.

 

Good quality skilled manpower has been a perennial challenge for our industry and an issue that needs to be addressed if the hospitality industry is to grow at the anticipated levels. Hotel & Hospitality education institutions in the public and private sector are the key providers of skilled talent for the industry and in the last few years the students graduating from these institutions are finding favor with several other sectors such as Real Estate, Retail, Airlines & Travel related services. While this provides a spectrum of broader opportunities to the students, it also further depletes the resource pool for the hospitality sector.

 

One of the areas which we find makes a significant impact on hotel management students is the industry Internship that these future leaders undergo during their curriculum. This is often the first real exposure they get of their future workplace. The learning they gather from their Internship plays an essential role in shaping their future in the Hospitality Industry.  

 

To get a better understanding of the impact that Internship has on students, we are currently working on a study to gauge the Effectiveness of Internships in Hospitality Sector in India. The study aims to:

Identify and understand the challenges (if any) faced by students as well as the industry during internship programs

Based on the analysis of the Internship Survey, recommend how the sector can address possible concerns to make Internships more effective

As part of our research for the study, we would like to solicit insights from you as well as your students. Your valuable insights will assist us in creating the report and we would be happy to acknowledge your contribution for the same.
