New WGC USA Website Under Development

Work is well underway on the USA 2012 World Gliding Championship
website.

Over the last several months the sites design, content and function
have all been defined. A web based content management system called
Joomla is being used to develop the site. This framework will make it
easy for web team members and managers to collaborate and manage the
sites content including the messages posted in this group which will
show up on the site directly. Development is several weeks into
production with preliminary review possible shortly.

The WGC USA web needs to be a team effort.

There will be a number of web based features that will require a team
to accomplish. Contest entry is one of these areas that needs to be
built out. The ability to take and process credit cards along with an
online store would be helpful. This functionality was not possible in
the web development budget provided. As the championships draw near
daily reporting, videos, web cams and photo galley come to mind as
areas that will need talented volunteers to make them happen.

So please consider what you can do to help make the WGC USA website
the best it can be before, during and after the championships. If you
