You have been busy---very, very busy. Sorry the mash bread was so much work. It's okay but not my favorite either. But I think the steamed bread might be worth the effort of customizing. Will you try it again? Do you think walnuts would do well?

I'll have to keep my eyes open for appropriate pans. I'm really hesitant to use cans now with all the different liners. I'm just not sure how they will take the heat.

It might be called 'work' but i see it as more of a creative
challenge, no matter how much i might rant!
Yes I will try the steamed bread again, nuts would be great. It may be
the early settlers didn't have acess to nuts when the bread was made?
As for the liner inside food cans? I will contact the producer and inquire.
happy baking!

I emailed redgold the producer of tuttarosa brand crushed tomatoes we
use, at 9:30 this morning. They 'called' me at 10 am ! Impressive! Yes
the cans are safe for baking. As for other brands of food products I
would think it's the same, but suggest contacting that company on a
particular food product can.

Wow! This was an extremely nice thing to do, over and above the call of duty. Thanks!
