We may wish to consider this in the context of the 'Nomina' workshops that started in 2007

Thanks Paddy for bringing these up, very relevant.

And do consider just adding them on as additional 'Nomina meetings', because there is visibility within a core group of international players.

I would argue that, from a grantsmanship perspective, this in fact the exact opposite should be made clear - that such a working group would *not* be a continuation of the Nomina meetings, even if the group will build in their results. I suspect that a working group proposal that comes across as mostly continuing a series of meetings that has run out of funding will have very little chance of getting funded. NESCent's WGs are expected to tackle innovative synthesis, and to result in high-impact scholarly products. Having a place to meet and dialog (and Paddy, I know that that's not all you meant) isn't going to be competitive as a NESCent WG, and so any perception that that's what this might be should probably be headed off. (That doesn't mean that dialog can't or in fact shouldn't be part of the process that the WG, if funded, uses to achieve its promised outcomes.)

Oddly enough, I may agree.  I mentioned to one or two others that what this idea offers are fresh thoughts, new approaches, and a sharpened purpose.
