Dear eGovernment Working Group,

Thank you to all of those who voted in the eballot to approve the De-Charter (self-shut down) of the eGov Working Group. The eballot has passed, therefore the shut-down of the group has been approved with 5 selecting Yes, 1 selecting No with no Abstentions. The Super-Majority of those voting to support the motion was achieved. It will now go to the Leadership Council for ratification.

Just a reminder on what is being done here: Section 4.4.2: WG Shutdown (part e) of the Operating Procedures says, “A WG may at any time vote to De-Charter itself by a Super Majority of those voting on the motion to shut down the WG. The result of the vote to De-Charter must be put before the LC for ratification”.

The one participant that selected No, added the comment that they wanted to contribute more, which staff interpret as either retaining the WG or interest in a Discussion Group.  With the WG option now off the table in the near term, it points to a potential DG. Of course that would need a group of potential participants proposing a DG to draft a new Charter for the LC's consideration. However, that is a separate matter to the matter at issue here.

Please don’t hesitate to reach out to st...@kantarainitiative.org should you have any questions.

Best regards,

The Kantara Staff
