We are getting a lot more people interested in playing EotE online, which is great! After all, EotE is an improved WFRP3 in space ;)

So, should I change the name of this group to FFG Virtual RPG, or simply Virtual RPG? I am curious what you all think.

If I do so, it will change the group email address, so for a couple days, we may not be able to reply directly to a post through email.

Cheers

Hmmm.... EotE, absolutely. Other FFG RPGs... perhaps. Virtual RPG might be stretching a bit thin, and there are other portals for virtual RPGs.

I know, I don't want it to stray too far. Basically we seem to all like FFG custom dices RPGs which is what I'd like to keep the group about.

Well the 40k RPGs would still make some sense as well, given there is common ground in being a GW license. I don't know if anyone plays the other RPGs they produce?

Perhaps an FFGVirtualRPG group makes the best sense, even if it is still focused on the two main systems.

FFG RPG's is about as far as I suggest you stray.
Theres enough scope in their stable for myriad options and, while I enjoy Pathfinder and others, I think the rest of the market is pretty much covered elsewhere.

I always felt that the group would be better placed having its own forum on the fantasy grounds forums as we are secluded in a private forum. In terms of virtual rpgs, I think FG is the most popular and it would help to get more people into the system.

Would it be easier to start a eote group and just move all topics over there? This way if someone isn't interested in eote they don't get in mail clutter?

My 2 cents.

Guys - one question which could solve this google grps mess.

I have a webspace that I do not use - I can set up a phpbb forum for RPGs in general.
So you can create topics for each of your games which would be easier to follow ( I guess).
for file sharing I would suggest dropbox/google files, since my webspace is limited in HDD size.

what do u think?

A phpbb board would be marvelous.

Yes Alex definitely. I didn't want to pay for one ( I am already paying for obsidian but use it for my private campaigns too) but a free one from a member would be great.

Then maybe call it FFG Virtual RPGs. I can then send an email to all members here to transition there. I or you can recreate all critical posts containing important information.

By the way, visibility is not the problem, we have over 200 members, and still not enough GMs. Maybe are coming just to download the library, maptool framework of Rob, or Steve char generator, but still they are all interest in online gaming.

Ok cool. I won't be able to get to it before next week however, too busy right now, so I'll wait to do any official email about it until I transferred the critical posts.

I just registered Alex, very cool! That will indeed be much better.

I was wondering then whether I should go ahead and purchase a domain name like FFG Virtual RPG, which would then forward to your php board. It would be easier to say to someone go to www.ffgvirtualrpg.com than give a board address.

Are you cool with that Alex?

Cheers
Philippe

i created a subdomain called ffgvirtualrpg.prediger.at.
perhaps this is enough for our purpose with no money involved

Ok, so to keep folks updated. I am sorry, I have been super busy, so I havent had time to transfer information yet to the board Alex created for us. It's on my calendar, it will be done, and the board is going to be useful. I should have a few days off mid-March where I hope to do all of that.

Cheers
Philippe
