Hey, folks. I've decided to include the four demo characters I had worked on for the table top game I will be running at my local game store. Let me know what you think.

Each character has a backstory and a specific place in the adventure, and most skills and abilities have been planned out so that they will be usable. The link to the first backstory (for the smuggler) is here...

Feel free to sign up and leave comments on that forum if you wish. it would be extremely encouraging. I'm trying to create some sort of player base for the game out here as I am not originally from Louisiana (New York and Boston are the places I've called home).

P.S. I hope the blue, hand written font shows up. It gave me some trouble when I packed the PDF.

Hmmm... the Google viewer for these PDFs doesnt work too well. Can someone download it and tell me how it looks? The character names (and many other pieces of text) should be in color. Also, looks like the handwritten fonts don't work so I'll probably change it.

Hey Steve, well I downloaded the Troll Slayer and I can read everything. The only problem is for the damage and critical rating of the weapon, it's unclear what it is.

Let us know how your demo works!

Cheers
Philippe

I looked at it and I think I see what you mean. The damage looks okay to me (Is the text messed up on your screen?), but the criticals are all smushed together. I'll fix that. Thanks for the heads up. Anything else giving a problem?

I think I might know what you meant by the damage. Specifically, the "Weapon Damage" column, right? I think I know what happened there. I'll fix and post a revised copy.

My hope is to make these my regular demo characters so I want them to be as refined and well done as possible. You'll notice I removed lots of potential crunchiness from the game by giving final numbers (i.e. no calculating your soak. I have instead given the total values. Same with damage).

Okay, I think I've fixed both the font embedding problem and the weapon damage/critical problem. Take a look and tell me if I missed something.

By the way, THANKS for catching that issue! That would've been a problem!

I'll check them again tonight when home. Also share their bg with us as we could re use them for online demo games or in store demo.

Hey Steve,

Ok other feedback (and I am just picky here ok :) ):
- The Trained section, I would be you, I would have 3 little square, one filled i yellow. That way, those sheets can actually be advanced further.
- The Advanced skills section: The handwritten font is over "Advanced Skill". You could just get rid of "Advanced Skill".
- Favoured by Fate: I am not sure you really need to have a glass bead for that. You could do the AD&D way, and have a check box for "Used this session" (but that's just preference).
- Stance: Reckless, there is a greyish square there appearing.

Please share the final sheets and bg with us, those are nice sheets and good chars!

Thanks for the feedback! I realize I should also include a note as to what products are required for creating these characters. This would allo a GM to swap out the cards they do not possess. I also realize these sheets need to be altered. I originally designed them to be used as regular character sheets for the games I ran for the kids at the high school I used to work at. This is why you can very faintly see the three fillable check boxes next to the skills.

While the characters that were used at the school were meant to be advanced through play, the demo sheets are not meant to be advanced. The characters are meant to be static. Maybe I should alter the sheets to reflect this (i.e. eliminate area for the player to fill in such as the empty "Advanced Skill" lines)? I would still keep the "Character Career Advancement" section so that players can understand how character advancement works. You will also notice that the sheet has been built so that you do not need the career card to play (I found it mostly confused people since a lot of info on there is only concerned with character generation).

The method of my demos is thus: anyone can play by using the pre-generated characters. These characters do not gain experience points. If a player wishes to, they can buy the game at the store and either create a new character to play or they can take over one of my demo characters in which case they become "unlocked" and can be advanced normally. This is intended to support game sales and increase the player base.

P.S. The glass bead is something I started using so that Reiklander players didn't forget they had their fate ability. It's worked out very well so far.

These are all fixed up with the changes you requested and the changes I proposed.

Very nicely done. I'd be interested if you could share the blank char sheet then that you used with the high school kids (very lucky kids by the way... where are you located?).

Let us know how the demos go. It's definitely the way to go. I want to do the same but the closest store is 1h40 min from me and well... I didn't come around to yet.

Okay, here is a quickly made blank. It shouldn't have any errors but look it over and let me know. I also changed it to be friendly for filling in and advancing characters.

By the way, it is deigned to be folded up. This should reduce the size to something manageable and that will fit in with your other warhammer components. I do this because I use ziplock bags to store character sheets and all player components between sessions (the boxes weren't too practical, but bags works great).

My demo is on Friday night (meaning tomorrow) at 7 PM central time (I live in Louisiana in the USA). Now all I need to do is write three character backgrounds and an entire adventure before tomorrow night.

I've posted the background for Leopold Fiegler, the scribe (and leader) of the party. Check it out!

I've now posted The Tale of Kazgan (the Troll Slayer). He is not a nice guy.

Finally, the Tale of Adred Liess (the commoner) is done! Man, I'm forced to write a lot of stuff in the middle of the night to get this done! At least now I can focus on writing the adventure.

Nicely done. I saved those BG to PDF for future use!

I am sure it went well yesterday, but let us know.

Cheers
