Has anyone done such conversion?

How did you run such a conversion_script in /database/ ?

You need to run wfcommon/storagecopy.py. The config file is wfcommon/config/storagecopy.yaml, where you have to specify the source and destination storages.

might there be a bug in there making it not to use the "customized"
config or do i lack some basic understanding for the system?

i configured the /etc/wfrog/wfcommon/config/storagecopy.yaml for my
mysql-server, but running the storagecopy.py in
/usr/lib/wfrog/wfcommon/ gave me this in storagecopy.log:

2012-04-01 17:37:24,057 INFO [config] Starting wfrog 0.8.2
2012-04-01 17:37:24,058 WARNING [config] User settings are missing.
Loading default ones. Run 'wfrog -S' for user settings se$
2012-04-01 17:37:24,059 INFO [config] Loaded settings file
../wfcommon/config/default-settings.yaml

so i also configured /usr/lib/wfrog/wfcommon/config/storagecopy.yaml -
and it worked.

on the other hand for the "normal" mysql-storage of the logger i set
/etc/wfrog/wfcommon/config/storage.yaml and it does work.

You need to indicate the yaml file when running the script. I.e.:

storagecopy.py -f  /etc/wfrog/wfcommon/config/storagecopy.yaml

on the other hand for the "normal" mysql-storage of the logger i set
/etc/wfrog/wfcommon/config/storage.yaml and it does work.

Because when you call wfrog you are already pointing to the config files in /etc/

hola,

well, as mentioned, it also worked after configuring
/usr/lib/wfrog/wfcommon/config/storagecopy.yaml

anyways - is there any place where i should have been able to see this
documented? if not - is there a way i could contribute to the
documentation? i would need/want to do it for myself anyways, so it
probably would make sense to contribute that.. so far everything round
here looks and sounds very coder-centric, not being a coder it's quite
hard to get things going..

Hi Markus,

There is documentation on how to configure wfrog in the wiki but there is not documentation on how to use this conversion script. There is also a lack of documentation on how to set up multiple sensor wfrog installations. We are aware of this lack of documentation and any help  will be welcome.

Jordi.

couple of days - but didn't really find anything useful. would be
really cool to finally get my greenhouse's temperature online ;)

In the wiki / Customization guide you'll find a brief section on how to do this. It shouldn't be difficult.

Jordi.
