1) Apparatus
Our new Engine/Rescue spent more time in the shop over the past
month. The most recent repairs have focused on electrical system
difficulties. While these issues did not place the apparatus out of
service, it did require several trips to service. The engine control
module was eventually replaced and we're hoping this repair will take
care of these problems once and for all.

2) WCATs Graduate
The 1st Worthington Citizens Action Team has successfully completed
several weeks of training and received certificates at City Council's
meeting on 03-19-07. Members of this team will be a resource to our
community during times when needs may out pace resources. The members
may be seen assisting police and fire at various large community
functions. Additionally, they will be a valuable community resource
should we ever experience large scale emergencies or disasters in the
area. Future classes are likely....stay tuned for additional
information.

3) Auto Extrication Training
Our thanks to Diamond Innovations on Huntley Road for offering us use
of their parking lot for a week during March. WFD crews spent 3 days
training on extrication techniques using a dozen wrecked automobiles
and vans. The training offered all members the opportunity for
training on a few new pieces of equipment added to our new Engine
Rescue apparatus when it was placed in service several months ago.
Members also spent time reviewing various techniques used to removed
trapped occupants from wreckage in different accident types, while
focusing on developing multiple alternatives should an initial tactic
be unsuccessful.
