Here's my issue: I'm trying to edit a PDF and the Helvetica neue choices that are in my Adobe don't offer the medium or the ten others in the family. I cannot edit to match the document. I try to download the helvetica neue I have in the Mac, on a CD, in a folder and all I get is "denied" from Adobe. In fact, if I search Helvetica neue in the awesome Creative Cloud for Adobe I get "font not found." So, what gives? How do I "just simply" add the family I have in my computer. Apparently the hurdle, or hoop, depending upon where you are in the rabbit hole, is that my font ends in ttc instead of ttf. But the one that is from 1995 which is linotype, ends in ttf.
The issue you may be facing is the Type 1 Fonts are being deprecated, and Helvetica Neue had a Type 1 version. Photoshop (where you posted) has already dropped support for Type 1. I'm not sure about Acrobat. I also don't know if your version actually is Type 1 or if the issue is that the typeface is not embedded.
Here's a screen capture. The information appears to be identical to the information described in the fonts I mentioned that I can substitute and edit. Occasionally something shows up that says Type 1. According to File>Properties>Fonts, this particular document has like 25 fonts used. It only used three. I guess there are some hidden where I have been highlighting and testing?
Note that if you decide to purchase Neue Helvetica, the $39 price is only for a "desktop font" that you can see on your screen, use in documents, and print to your personal desktop printer. If you want to embed the fonts in your PDF (which normally you want to do), there will be an additional licensing fee for each publication or edition of a publication. Per weight.

Univers bold font is a tremendous font that turned into designed and posted for the primary time via Hewlett Packard. This is a sans-serif typeface. That may be utilized in the website, emblem layout, in a record which needs some good-looking appearance...
so i was wondering if it is a problem on my machine, or everyone with the helvetica font for pc got that problem ?
i really hope its only me, otherwise all those nice looking websites on mac would look horrible on every pc with helvetica
i personally try to stick with web safe fonts too.
the problem is that there is a bug in the way cleartype affect or not fonts.
it doesnt render some fonts (mostly little sized) in a proper way.
i dont even know if it is possible, but imagine, a jquery script for example that would disable the cleartype (or tweak it) to get a better anti-aliasing. that could bring windows users a better graphic experience on the net.
Additional Information:
have tried clearing the cache and restarting
have tried running in a private window without extensions
have tried customising fonts in brave settings
have tried disabling hardware acceleration and disabling brave shields
have tried switching to a guest profile to eliminate user profile settings as a factor.
Can you check and see if Cleartype is enabled or disabled? If enabled, can you try disabling just to check and see if this fixes the issue? If disabled, please try enabling it and test to see if the issue persists.
(Edit:) THERE, Standard, Serif, and San-Serif Brave Browser fonts are/were set to Verdana. (Since posting, some testing of Helvetica neue, to see if matching with the font-family reported by Developer Tools, significantly changes appearance.)
I checked my fonts on my brave browser already.
standard and serif are both times new roman and sans serif is arial. fixed width is consolas. I have my font size to 20 and minimum to 14.
I tried changing those but it had no effect.
I have clear type back on now as it was before. still no change.
