Epsonis never fully satisfied with the printing technology we introduce. We never stop thinking. We never stop experimenting. And after we've finally developed the best printing technology possible, we pushed ourselves to make it even better.

A true evolution of our past-generation of photographic printing technology, our latest 24-inch (Epson Stylus Pro 7880) and 44-inch (Epson Stylus Pro 9880) professional wide-format printers incorporate forward-thinking designs, with a newly enhanced 8-color ink technology, resulting in a final print of uncompromising quality.

Epson UltraChrome K3 is the standard by which all other professional-level ink technologies are judged. Now enhanced with our breakthrough new Vivid Magenta pigments, our current generation ink technology requires only eight colors, including a three-level black technology, to significantly raise the quality levels for professional color and black-and-white prints.

Imagine producing archival prints with amazing color fidelity, gloss level, and scratch resistance, while providing consistently stable colors that significantly outperform lesser ink technologies. Imagine producing professional neutral and toned black-and-white prints with even higher density levels, along with virtually no metamerism or bronzing.

With an even higher level of ink droplet accuracy, we'e developed a new MicroPiezo AMC print head, along with a new ink repelling coating technology to dramatically reduce nozzle clogging. And, when combined with our new Epson AccuPhoto HD screening technology, at an astonishing resolution of 2880 x 1440 dpi, Epson has once again raised the level of image quality -- even exceeding our previous best.

Capable of handling virtually any media type, in roll or cut-sheet, up to 24-inch or 44-inch wide, Epson sets the standard for professional media use. Whether you're producing sellable color or black-and-white photography, fine art reproduction, or producing color accurate proofs for client approvals, never before have Creative Professionals had such a powerful tool, allowing them to produce their vision without compromise.

Our current generation of wide-format printers continue to represent a level of technology unprecedented in Epson's history. Combining the extreme precision of an Epson Stylus Pro print engine, along with the extraordinary performance of our latest Epson UltraChrome K3 ink technology, Epson continues to redefine the future of wide-format printing.

Hi,

the question is as follows.

I've got Epson 9880 printer since got used to Epson and satisfied with the print quality for years: neat and accurate colours, etc. But the new printer produces absolutely different results:

The prints are

1) washy and somewhat "dirty' and more yellow - no more precise clear and vivid colours (of course I speak about vividness where it should be, e. g. flowers, etc);

2) darker and dim, - no details in shadows, no white (it turns into very light grey), at the very same time I can't get saturated black: I get dim black instead (both in colour and b&w printing).

It happens on both types of paper (glossy and matte).

I guess the printer itself is OK as when I print the test page the colours are bright and clean. I use authentic Epson cartridges and Epson paper.

I compare the Epson 9880 prints to the prints of the same files (8/16-bit TIFFs, Adobe RGB) on Epson 2400. My hardware and software are the same. OS is Windows XP + SP3, Adobe Creative Suite 3. The situation doesn't depend on printing quality/resolution neither on initial TIFF resolution.

All printing properties are as they should be (i. e. there is no mistake in using wrong type of black ink or wrong paper).

Photoshop settings are:

Thank You, Colin. Please tell me how should I choose the color profile. I didn't do it as for somewhat ten years of using Epson printers I had never faced any problems with colors. I installed the printer (driver) and the color quality was impeccable (absolutely adequate to my calibrated monitor).

your pritn should look exactly the same form your 2400 vs 9880, it is like 99% of the time a user problem..why did you get good print wiht your 2400 and not with the 9880..sometime people think that they have a different printer and that they should use a different method..dont know why but it seem a user standard ; )

In photoshop you need to LET PHOTOSHOP determine color, select the correct paper profile something like SP_9880_LUSTER for example, relative and black point check. In the Epson driver, choose again your epson paper, 1440, high speed or not (on the 9980 you can turn this ON without any lost of quality for almost all matte paper, ON for all the semi gloss and gloss paper for sure) and turn ICC OFF.

By the way, you CANT print on matte and glossy paper with that printer at the same time..to do so you will need to purge your black ink and refill with the other one..a 70$ operation almost. So make sure that you have the photo or matte black install for the paper you intend to use with it.

My thinking here is that you have an old ink bay that is slightly miss-aligned. A common procedure for this printer (by the epson tech) used to be either aligning the ink bay or replacing it entirely when this happened.

The solution is to very very gently place a small wedge of cardboard underneath each cartridge right where it goes into the in bay. This will simply hold them in place so that when you raise and lower the ink lever they will not wiggle out and lose contact with the chip sensor.

One questions. Can you turn this printer on and then run a cleaning without error? If so, this may be an issue with your printer driver. If you are sending Photoblack data when it is in Matte black mode or vis-versa this can crop up . . .

And as a crazy second question - am I able to reset chips from OEM carts? Or do I need to order ones from you? I did replace my VM with an OEM one, but maybe that was a mistake? It was after this all started - just on Saturday.

The T3 is designed primarily for simple material handling applications, such as test machine loading/ unloading. It provides companies with the opportunity to free operators from repetitive and non-creative tasks such as transporting components, which to date had not been performed by robots due to financial concerns. Manufacturers who automate tasks by combining multiple low-cost single-axis robots will find that they can replace these with T3 robots. Doing so will enable them to reduce or eliminate troublesome single-axis robot maintenance work and save money over the long run. Deploying T3 robots will enable factory owners to free up space that was taken up by a large number of robots and use their floor space more efficiently and productively.

1 Do not apply loads that exceed the maximum payload.

2 Cycle time is based on a round-trip arch motion (300 mm horizontal, 25 mm vertical) with a 1-kg payload (path coordinates optimized for maximum speed).

3 When the centre of gravity is at the centre of each arm. If the centre of gravity is not at the centre of each arm, set the eccentric quantity using the INERTIA command.

C4-Series

EPSON C4 6-axis robots are the latest in the lineup of C-Series 6-axis models. With best in class cycle times, precision and motion range, EPSON C4 robots are leading the industry for compact 6-axis robot applications. EPSON C4 arms have the same unique SlimLine design as the C3 that allows the arms to reach into confined/restricted workspaces from many angles with smooth motion not achievable with competitive models. The slimline body and compact wrist of the C4 enables great motion range and less mechanical restrictions making C4 robots the most compact and flexible robots in the market today. Also with the C4, the maximum payload is now up to 4kg and we also added a 900mm model which opens more possibilities, and more applications for EPSON C4-Series Robots.

Epson G3 robots lead the industry with best in class cycle time, precision and motion range. With over 30 models available in sizes from 250-300mm, EPSON G3 robots are the robot of choice for high precision, high speed applications where performance AND low cost are required. G3 SCARA robots are ideal for applications such as hard drive assembly, lab automation, electronics assembly, medical device assembly, photonics, semiconductor, telecommunications, solar, and many others.

Unique to the G-Series, is the new curved arm option which allows G3 arms to be purchased as right or left curved models to maximize work envelope usage while maintaining small workspace usage overall. G3 arms are available in 250, 300 and 350mm arm lengths and come with 150mm (120 clean) Z-Axis lengths. They are also available in table top, wall or ceiling mount configurations as well as Clean/ESD configurations.
