Molecular Therapy and Molecular Therapy – Nucleic Acids are pleased to announce a call for papers for their upcoming special issue on the topic of mRNA therapy. The first therapeutic use of in vitro-transcribed mRNA was reported in 1992. Since then many advances have been made to improve translation, stability, and delivery of the mRNA. Currently, the therapeutic application of mRNA technology has expanded into several areas, including cancer immunotherapies, infectious disease vaccines, protein replacement therapies, genome engineering, and genetic reprogramming. As evidenced in the pages of the Molecular Therapy family and elsewhere, the interest in this therapeutic platform continues to grow. Given this interest, the editors are happy to announce a joint special issue of Molecular Therapy and Molecular Therapy – Nucleic Acids that aims to focus on this important area. The special issue will be guest edited by Drs. Katalin Karikó and Paloma Giangrande and will comprise eight distinguished topical reviews together with peer-reviewed original research papers. We hereby invite researchers to submit manuscripts, with a deadline of September 30, 2018. Invited Reviews - mRNA Vaccines for Infectious Diseases
Jeffrey Ulmer - mRNA for Cancer Vaccines
Ugur Sahin - mRNA Delivery
Daniel Anderson - mRNA-based Protein Replacement Therapy for the Heart
Lior Zangi - mRNA-based Protein Replacement Therapy for the Lung
Michael Korman - mRNA-based Protein Replacement Therapy for the Liver
Carsten Rudolph - mRNA-based Antibodies
