I am looking to run some scenarios for a site in Sussex County Delaware using the Sussex County Weather data.  Just not sure how to get it to show up in the wizard.

You can not use the wizard for this. The wizard assumes that weather stations are already present.
To add stations, go to Parameters -> Station Data - GSOD.
Then Click on Import Station Header info.
Wetbud will download the latest header info from the internet.
Select the station(s) that you want and click "Create New Station Record"
Once you create the stations in your study area, you need to populate the stations with data.
Exit these forms back to the main menu and access Parameters - Precipitation Data (GSOD)
Download the available precipitation data.
A lot of times you need to mix and match stations to get a complete set. This is the most time consuming part.
Once your precip data have been downloaded (and checked), you need to download the appropriate WETS data (Station Data -> Wets)

There are more steps that follow before you can actually setup and run a project.
You may consult the full manual for details.
Will be happy to provide more info once you have downloaded all required data.

Note: if the Sussex County data are not available through GSOD, then you may need to manually download them and add them to a station. If that is the case, let us know and we will provide more info

Hello,

thank you for this useful information. I have some additional questions about manually downloading data and adding them to a station. I have identified the appropriate NCDC station :

STATION           STATION_NAME
GHCND:USC00286055           NEW BRUNSWICK 3              SE NJ US

However it is not shown when i click to "Import Station Header Information" and search by location name. I have downloaded the data, but it would be great to have a bit more information on how to manually add them to a station. Thanks for your help!

Michael

thanks for your input and comments.
Please follow these steps
a) go to parameters-> Station Data GHCN
b) click on Import Station Header information
c) type 286055 in the "Search by Code" field.  If nothing comes up, then click "Update GHCN data from web" and let wetbud download the updated station data. Just did that myself
d) You should be able to identify the station now.  (Same if you type "NEW BRUNSWICK" in the search by Location field)
e) Click on Create Station record. That will create a record with header info in your local database
f) go to Parameters -> Precipitation data for GHCN stations
g) select a range of years or single year and download the relevant precip data.

Let me know if you have any issues

Thank you for the quick reply! This worked well! My question now is how to add this station to the weather stations tab under projects.

Wetbud projects are tied up ONLY to GSOD weather stations.
Since your main station is a GHCN here are the full steps of what you need to do
a) create a GSOD station manual (i.e. not through import of header info, but just by accessing Parameters -> Station Data GSOD
b) Create a new station by clicking on "new station"
c) fill out the basic information including lat and long. Lat and long can be the same as in the GHCN station
d) go to parameters->precipitation data GSOD and select the station you just created
e) select the tab titled "Import GHCN". This allows you to import all GHCN data into the GSOD format
f) If the longitude and latitude of the station and project are set up correctly then wetbud will automatically identify the nearest stations for each project when you access the and list them under the "weather stations tab" in the projects form. You can then select the station you want by clicking on "select reference station". This will be the main reference station for your project

Let me know if this works for you

Rain data that you are collecting can be entered under GSOD stations.  As discussed above, you need to create a GSOD station and then populate it with rain (precipitation data). These will be the data used for the analysis. Again, the lat and long of this station needs to be close to the project site so that Wetbud can include that station in the project analysis.

Once a project is setup, then you can enter a ground water in time series under that project. Under Parameters there is an option "Water Inputs/Outputs" that lead to the ground water in timeseries.

Always make sure you run the latest version currently 1.5.0.39. Download the latest version, run the installer,  and that will update the program and the database if needed.

>I am also curious about adding rain and ground water level data that we are collecting ourselves. Is rain data the only environmental inputs that we will need >to run the program?

thank you. For some reason I am unable to copy the GHCN data to the newly created GSOD station. I see the GHCN data, but when i select the station and copy all (within the GHCN Import tab) nothing copies over. Am i doing something wrong?

Have verified the issue and will fix it in the next update. Thanks for bringing this to our attention. Monthly and annual do not work. Copy all data works.

New version has been posted that addresses the issue with copying Monthly and Annual GHCN Data to GSOD data sets.
