In some cases, technicians need to share remote desktop sessions to solve the issue at hand. If you have multiple techs working to resolve an issue, a remote viewer can offer a seamless way to share screens and see what teammates are seeing.

DRE is designed to facilitate real-time screen sharing across Windows, Linux, and macOS from a centralized console. To prevent confusion while presenting a session, you can also switch between view-only and interactive screen sharing models to control access.

DRE is an intelligent remote desktop software built to give techs valuable insights at the beginning of a support session, including system info, BIOS, device details, and Windows event logs and updates to more easily resolve an issue. Techs can also save session details and recorded sessions to the cloud to share important troubleshooting information with teammates and for future reference.

Clients can stay in constant communication with techs via live chats, VoIP calls, and video conference calls. DRE can also display expected wait time information, so clients can keep up with their ticket status by viewing their position in the support queue. These features are designed to help make the remote support process both painless and fast for end users.

Before you view a remote desktop session in SolarWinds Dameware Remote Everywhere (DRE), open the DRE console. The remote viewer window will automatically open after you accept a support request from a customer or start a support session on an unattended computer. The System Details tab will give you an overview of how the remote device is currently configured, including information about the operating system, network setup, CPU, memory, hard disk, and more. This function is built to give you the information you need to start troubleshooting right away.

Workstations with two or more monitors are increasingly common these days, especially as more enterprises transition to remote work and employees transfer their workstations to their homes. Your IT technicians must be prepared to work with multiple workstations at once if the situation requires it.

SolarWinds Dameware Remote Everywhere (DRE) is a powerful, lightweight, and intuitive remote access solution designed to give your technicians everything they need to resolve client issues quickly and effectively, no matter where they are. DRE is built to offer the features of the most premium solutions on the market for a fraction of the price. You can remotely and securely connect to a Windows PC, Linux, or macOS X computer, typically in less than eight seconds. It can also make remote connections with mobile devices.

Connect to a remote desktop from anywhere over a secure connection using the Full Control and View mode. View the remote screen, move the remote mouse pointer and send keystrokes. Use the toolbar at the top of the remote control window to run other tasks.

Send and receive files to/from a remote desktop using the File Transfer mode with a classic two-pane file manager interface. You can open multiple remote computers in tabs. Drag and drop is also supported.

Enable two-step verification for ultimate protection. You can generate a time-based token and add it to Google Authenticator or a similar app. When you start a remote session Remote Utilities will ask you for a one-time password (OTP).

I have been on the hunt for a remote control solution that I could wrap my arms around and have it do all I want it to do and not have to break the bank or have to pay forever. I have found that solution here with Remote Utilities.

One of the first things my new Computer Support provider did was send me the link to Remote Utilities. It sat in my inbox for five months until one day while pounding by head against the wall trying to figure out what would do more of what I want DameWare, LogMeIn or TeamViewer. Each one has something the other has or does something slightly better then the other but none of them knocked my socks off. I shared my frustration with my IT support person and he asked me if I ever looked into the link to Remote Utilities he had sent me, The light bulb shined as I remembered that was one of the e-mails that I had been keeping in my inbox to check out someday when I had some free time.

My oh my, I am so glad I made the time to check this out before going with one of my other choices. The search ended here. Remote utilities does everything I need it to do and more. It seems everyday I find something new I can do with it and it is all included in one license fee. The best part for me is the Active Directory integration. Saved lots of time for me and I don't have a large network. It seems to have all the best parts of the most popular choices of remote control software but better and with more options too. It is even easier to setup and deploy including remote install and Group Policy install on the LAN. You can customize your own MSI to keep your installs quick and consistent. If you try this out, you too will be singing it's praises and wondering how you survived without it!!

I am trying to use TeamViewer to remote into my Ubuntu-based server, so that I could manage it when I am away. The problem is, every time I try to remote into the server, I get this message displayed:

The problem with this is that I have to be present next to the server to be able to get rid of it and start the TeamViewer session. Is there a way to get rid of it for good, so that I could remote into the server without being next to it? Thanks in advance.I assume this is some stupid privacy or security thing, but I didn't find anything about it online.

Configuration Manager allows you to connect to client computers using Configuration Manager Remote Control. Before you begin to use remote control, ensure that you review the information in the following articles:

Select the computer that you want to remotely administer and then, in the Home tab, in the Device group, choose Start > Remote Control.

If the client setting Prompt user for Remote Control permission is set to True, the connection does not initiate until the user at the remote computer agrees to the remote control prompt. For more information, see Configuring remote control.

Users at the remote computer can view more information about the remote control session when they click the Configuration Manager Remote Control icon. The icon is in the Windows notification area or the icon on the remote control session bar.

The remote control viewer is supported on all operating systems that are supported for the Configuration Manager console. For more information, see Supported configurations for Configuration Manager consoles and Prerequisites for remote control.

A computer with VNC Server software installed can be accessed and controlled from a different device in a different location. The software allows a broadcast of the device desktop to a secondary device with VNC Viewer installed. Connected VNC Viewer users send a request, and then (with permission) can see the same thing as the person sitting in front of the remote computer.

VNC Viewer is used for local computers and mobile devices you want to control from. A device such as a computer, tablet, or smart phone with VNC Viewer software installed can access and take control of a computer in another location.

Remote Framebuffer, or RFB, is the protocol that governs the format of the data that passes between the client and server within the VNC system. This is what allows a client to view and control another computer remotely. It is applicable to all windowing applications and systems, which means that it works across platforms such as Windows, macOS, Linux, and other popular operating systems.

The place where the user sits, with the display, mouse, and keyboard capabilities, is called the RFB client or viewer. The place where the framebuffer changes originate (as in the windowing system) is called the RFB server. Remote Framebuffer is designed so that clients can run on the widest range of hardware and so that implementing a client is as simple as possible, with very few requirements needed from the client.
