I work with adobe cs5. Recently, it started to not work. I would have to restart it over and over to get it to compile an swf properly. So I am trying cs5.5. I get this error "Error initializing Java Runtime Environment. You may need to reinstall Flash."

anyway, i've seen that error myself but restarting my computer remedied the problem. i'm pretty sure that's not going to help you and i thought the most likely remedy explained in the adobe knowledge base would be more likely to help you. i now know you'd already tried that and it did not help.

i think your best bet is to google that error message and explore all the solutions mentioned. i'm also pretty sure you've already done some of that but if you've not followed all the links listed, i would encourage you to persist.

I had the same problem and after trying everything one day I did a "boot-time scan" with my antivirus -avast- and it found some threat with some java files or something, I just leave the program do its job and delete everything what it was wrong. After the restart I opened Flash and it worked fine. No more "error initializing java runtime environment you may need to reinstall flash cs5"

Acutally the error comes due to the corroupt jvm.ini file (Too large values > 256 cause the error appear. Eg. Xmx1024m ) which gets created in temporary configuration forlders automatically during the Flash Installation.

^-Note that String ASCII "NUMA page alloc..." - will be a great 'link' to easily find that location in other JVM-versions to applied the patch there. Open jvm.dll in Ollydebug open String Ref. Windows and search for the string...

This space is virtual and not actually claimed (else you would very quickly run out of RAM) but it a kind of potential or Adress system. Na sorry that'll be to offtopic to explain all the basic's about memory.

I can't seem to find someone with a mac that has that error, I just installed high sierra and am running cs6 (I know I should have the cloud but yeah not falling for the subscription pyramid scheme). I use flash everyday (yeah still) for work and now it just quits like every 20 minutes. I need help! please

I get this error message every time I try to create/use LibreOffice base " LibreOffice requires a Java runtime environment (JRE) to perform this task. Please install a JRE and restart LibreOffice." Why do I get this message and how can I fix it?

@Skyler63 Glad it is working. However you assumption based upon Windows being 64 bit is not correct. Win 64 can run either LO 32 or 64 bit. Therefore, JRE 32 or 64 bit is based upon which LO is installed.

The JRE combines Java code created by using the JDK with the necessary libraries required to run it on a JVM and then creates an instance of the JVM that runs the resulting program. JVMs are available for multiple operating systems, and programs created with the JRE run on all of them. In this way, the Java Runtime Environment is what enables a Java program to run in any operating system without modification.

The JDK and JRE interact with one another to create a sustainable runtime environment that enables the seamless execution of Java-based applications in virtually any operating system. These attributes make up the JRE runtime architecture:

The Java ClassLoader dynamically loads all classes necessary to run a Java program. Since Java classes are only loaded into memory when they're required, the JRE uses ClassLoaders to automate this process on demand.

The bytecode verifier ensures the format and accuracy of Java code before it passes to the interpreter. If code violates system integrity or access rights, the class will be considered corrupted and won't be loaded.

Included as part of the JRE installation are deployment technologies like Java Web Start and Java plug-in that simplify the activation of applications and provide advanced support for future Java updates.

IBM Cloud Pak for Applications provides the ultimate flexibility for your application landscape. Use your subscription to choose from multiple runtime deployment options: IBM WebSphere, IBM WebSphere Liberty, Red Hat JBossEnterprise Application Platform, Quarkus, Tomcat, Node.js Spring Boot, Vert.x and more.

Support topic was blocked so I apologize for asking for help in general. A few hours ago I was playing all normal but went to eat, when I was back it denied me access and sent me this. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the game, turning the pc off and on multiple times too and nothing. Any suggestions? The image shown is something that's shows when I try to install the game again, if I click on the option "skip file" the JRE 11 message appears

Do not open the game as Administrator and if it is opening as administrator click properties on the PokeMMO file and disable it; If that doesn't work, try opening it as administrator, if you still cannot play, update Java, if you still can't play, update windows.
write that error in google and search for more answers if nothing works.

Happens to me too.. I cant play because of that. I tried reinstalling the game but it works for sometime then it auto closes and keeps repeating the java runtime error. Im now piss because it happens in the new update. I hope some devs or mods have solution for this i have tournament in 17 and i have to submit my team tommorow

This works for some people, if not I'd recommend ensuring that if you have installed Java 11 already that it is actively being recognised by your System, as old Java versions are known to contradict with newer ones.

You can do this by inputting the command java -version into your respective Terminal / Command Prompt.

If you get the message;

'java' is not recognized as an internal or external command,
operable program or batch file.

This means Java may not be installed correctly, I'd suggest completely uninstalling any Java version you may have installed;

Go to the Windows Start Button and select Settings then Control Panel.
Click Add or Remove Programs in the Control Panel list.
Find Java in the list and uninstall it.

Same deal. After installing Yosemite, I get a pop-up every once in a while stating, "to run this web content you need to install Java Runtime" or some such. I clicked on the "More Info" button which took me to an Oracle site that states that Yosemite requires runtime version of Java 8u25 and that I shouldn't use Java 6 or Java 7. I downloaded JRE 8u25 and installed it. I'm still getting the pop-up every once in a while.

c. If I create something called sym-links (or correct those that already exist, not sure which), I could make the app searching for Java 6 RE see my installation of Java 8 RE. This is over my end-user head.

This whole problem is compounded by the fact that this pop-up shows up at different times and situations; I don't know for certain what app is causing it. Mavericks had the pop-up too but installing what Oracle told me to made the pop-up go away. It isn't working this time.

Same issue. Pop up at random intervals without any interaction with the browser. I have not reinstalled JRE or JDK. I removed the Facebook video helper, but the message keeps popping up. This was not an issue before I updated to Yosemite.

TO stop the pop-up you have to install Apple's version of Java 6, which I believe is the last version Apple compiled themselves before they handed all things Java over to Oracle. It is available at this Apple page:

Thank you for the solutions. I would like to know what is causing the popup in the first place. What program is trying to execute code requiring JRE on its own when the browser window is closed? I want to solve the root problem, not treat the symptoms.

Installing Apple's JRE 6 over Oracle's JRE 8u25 doesn't SEEM to mess with Oracle's previous installation of 8. Oracle's control panel still functions and Oracle's web site still says I have a functioning copy of JRE 8 installed. If all you want to do is stop the pop-up you don't need 8 at all. I only have both because of the order this all unfolded, with the pop-up's "More Info" button taking me to Oracle's version 8 first.

I've installed the apple version of Java over Oracle's Java 8u25 and it has seem too stop the pop up from occurring. Also for those of your who may be running Symantec Endpoint ( SEP) version who were not able to run live update due to a java error, installing Java 8u25 then Apples java 6 as stated above seems to have fixed the live update issue.

I was getting a message on Safari and Firefox that told me I had a missing Java Plug-in. I've tried everything but no joy. Last effort was fix permissions. Install latest Java from Apple. Reboot with browser windows and browsers closed. Install latest version from Oracle (JRE 8u25). When I verify Java either browser tells me that I must install the latest version (JRE 8u25). I've tried this about 10 different ways and read a lot of forum posts.

My current solution is to not use webpages that require the Java plug-in. I am not all that computer savvy and I use Macs so I don't have to be but I have to say Macs and OXS are becoming more and more like windows every time they "improve" the system.

But I guess I will do it to avoid this dreadful pop up every time. The irritating thing is that error message generated and requiring an old Apple version of Java takes you to the Oracle version 8 page putting you in an endless loop. Lame.

I'm living with the popup on my iMac, however I'm curious why I didn't get the same message on My MacBook Air after I installed Yosemite. The MacBook Air works perfectly with no popups and I went from Mavericks to Yosemite just as I did on my iMac. As already stated, I'd rather live with the popup on the iMac than add software for no apparent reason other than removing the popup.
