Hi All,
This is a reminder of Sustainable Middlesex’s meeting this Saturday with Heather Murray of the Conservation Law foundation talking about CLF’s lawsuit against ExxonMobil.(see details below).
I also wanted to let you know that Bernie Jenkins and Bob Andrews from Concord will be sharing their experience organizing eight different groups in Concord to come together as the Climate Solutions Planning Committee. It is a positive and constructive model we would like to replicate in Lexington.
We will be at gathering at the Lexington Community Center (not the Library), 39 Marrett Rd. (behind the National Heritage Museum), Saturday February 4th. Doors open at 9AM with coffee and snacks and a chance to connect with other concerned citizens. The program starts at 9:30 and concludes at 11:00.
Hope to see you then,
Charlie

Hi all –
I'm thrilled to announce Heather Murray of the Conservation Law Foundation will be in Lexington to discuss their lawsuit against ExxonMobil at the Sustainable Middlesex meeting on Saturday, February 4. Although the allegations relate to the ExxonMobil facility in Everett, the suit has national, if not international, implications.
No matter the outcome, this action will widely increase awareness about the consequences of climate change.
In addition to the speaker, we will have a chance to discuss successful local initiatives regarding efforts to reduce carbon emissions and to engage others in our mission. If your group has had a successful project, please let me know.
Also, if you would like to learn from an initiative of another community, such as Belmont's electric car program, Arlington's aggregated electricity purchase, Lexington's Lexplore Sustainability, or Concord's coordination among many groups in the community, please let me know and I will try to arrange a presentation to the group.
The event will take place at the Lexington Community Center (not the Library), 39 Marrett Rd. (behind the National Heritage Museum), Saturday February 4th. Doors open at 9AM with coffee and snacks and a chance to connect with other concerned citizens. The program starts at 9:30 and concludes at 11:00.
Please forward this message to others who have an interest in addressing climate change or the topic.
Hope to see you then,
Charlie
