Hi All,

Momentum is building! Senator Barrett has 41 co-sponsors on his bill to put a price on carbon.

Sustainable Middlesex affiliated towns are leading the way in gaining support for the bill from local town Democratic Committees including: Bedford, Carlisle, Concord, Lexington, Lincoln, Sudbury and 3 more towns from outside our area.

What’s next? How do we keep things moving forward so Massachusetts sets a precedent for the nation with a fee and rebate system to reduce the use of fossil fuels?

Senator Barrett will be at the next Sustainable Middlesex meeting to help answer these questions and develop the strategy to guide us forward.

We will hear from our colleagues about the progress they have made in their towns to gain support for the bill.

The meeting will be cosponsored by Climate XChange and the Citizens Climate Lobby. All organization interested in working to get a bill passed to reduce the use of fossil fuels are welcomed to join the meeting.

When: Saturday April 25 9:30 to 11:00AM

Where: down stairs conference room, Cary Memorial Library, 1874 Massachusetts Avenue, Lexington

Doors will open at 9:15 and people are welcome to stay later and connect with other concerned citizens from neighboring towns. Please forward this message to others you think might want to attend.

Hope to see you then,

Charlie Moore
