Friends,

I’m pleased to share with you Sen. Barrett’s carbon pricing legislation, SD285, “An Act combating climate change.” The bill places charges on fuels in proportion to their carbon dioxide emissions and rebates the proceeds to residents and employers.

Over the next week and a half, state legislators will be looking over thousands of bills and picking some to co-sponsor. I have a special favor to ask: Please get in touch with your state Representative and Senator. Give them a ring or send an email. Let them know why you support carbon pricing for Massachusetts and encourage them to co-sponsor SD285 - “An Act combating climate change.”

If you can, get a few friends to help with this search for co-sponsorships. Send this message along to members of local groups and organizations in surrounding communities. You can get the contact info for your legislators by entering your city or town here: https://malegislature.gov/People/Search
