Hi All,
Please join us for a presentation and discussion on Carbon Tax: A clear path to a cleaner, safer, healthier planet, October 6th 7:30-9 PM Cary Memorial Library, Lexington.
State Senator Mike Barrett, co-sponsor of the Massachusetts Carbon Tax bill and Marc Breslow, PHD consultant to the MA Department of Energy will lead a discussion on the implications of the initiative.
Marc Breslow will present the latest research on the effects of a carbon tax: “How a Massachusetts revenue-neutral carbon tax would cut emission and increase jobs without hurting households and businesses.”
It is widely recognized that an economy-wide carbon tax would be an effective and efficient means of making large cuts to our greenhouse gas emissions. If such a tax were revenue-neutral, meaning that most or all of the revenue is returned to the public, most households and businesses would be protected against harm to their living standards and business competitiveness. Dr. Breslow will present the evidence for Massachusetts.
