If you’re looking for a free, family-friendly event in West Newton tomorrow evening, March 7, please join Bay Colony Brass for “An Evening of Firsts,” featuring English composer Gustav Holst’s “First Suite in E-Flat for Military Band” arranged for brass ensemble. The concert also includes Philip Sparke’s “Pantomime” arranged by BCB’s euphonium player, Ian Kahn, Brian Balmages’ “Symphony No.1 for Brass,” and “From Heaven Shall It Come Down Upon Thee Until Thou be Destroyed for Brass Ensemble” by Boston-based composer Jason Huffman. It promises to be a fun evening close to home!
