Dunstan St excavation for 5 days beginning Wed 11/12

FYI for anyone who drives up Dunstan St to get from Watertown Street to Washington Street, this will not be a thru street for about 5 days starting Wednesday 11/12 for electrical excavation at the Washington St end. It will be two-way for this period so you can get to & from Welcome Home or Shepherd-Maudsley from Watertown St.

Subject: Eversource Road Work on Dunstan

All,

I wanted to let you now Eversource will be excavating to install the new conduit to the site this Wednesday 11/12. They will only have to block the top of Dunstan by Washington St . There will be 2 police details ( one at Washinton and one at Watertown).  Access to Dunstan Street will only be from Watertown St. It will be open to the back lot of Welcome Home and will be 2-way traffic. The construction will take 5 days.

I will be monitoring the work. If you have any issues, please call  me.

Thanks to Julia for the update on the Climate Action Plan.  I wrote to the city councilors asking that they make public transit and green spaces high priorities—particularly in the denser areas.

By the way, I was on Washington Street today for the first time in a couple of weeks.  I noticed that Walnut and Lowell now have left turn only lanes.  It was hard to tell because the arrows are painted on the street and cars were covering them.  Hopefully, people who drive the route regularly will figure out the new traffic pattern J
