If it is a mouse, we set traps with peanut butter or dried cranberries. 

Last summer, we had a baby bunny come in the house (probably while I was unloading groceries from the car).  We were watching TV and I told my husband that I saw a bunny in the back hall.  He could not find it.  The next morning we found it in our front hall.  We let it out:-)
