FYI, for anyone interested in an accessible Newtonville commuter rail station (and maybe, though I don't yet understand how, more frequent service at least at that station).

Someday, the same improvements may come to West Newton.

The Capital Engagement Team invites you to join our upcoming public hybrid meeting regarding the Newtonville Station Accessibility Improvements Project, scheduled for Thursday, December 11, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM

Event Details: 

- Enter the green door on the Homer St. side of City Hall. 

- Proceed to the second floor by stairs on your left or the elevator further down the hall on the left.

Event Description: 

The meeting is being held to update the status of the Newtonville Station Accessibility Improvements Project, which consists of providing new, fully accessible (ADA/MAAB compliant) Newtonville Station on the Framingham/Worcester Line. 

Accommodations 

This meeting is accessible to people with disabilities and those with limited English proficiency. The MBTA provides reasonable accommodations and/or language assistance free of charge upon request, as available. Such services include interpreters in American Sign Language and additional languages other than English, CART, live captioning, videos, assistive listening devices, and materials in alternate formats or languages.
