Hello. We are new to the neighborhood and are in need of various recommendations. Please see list below. Thanks in advance for your help. Iris

Pediatrician - David Landis MD. Works with Pediatric Associates of Wellesley. Located right near the intersection of 128 & Mass Pike. 

Dentist - Dr. Polansky. Super great guy and his associate Dr. Raddish is super too. She has young children and is very patient. Located on Highland Ave in Needham 

Opthomologist  - Dr. Bhatt. Hands down, THE BEST eye doc ever!! I wish my children were still young enough to go to her. Offices are in Newton-Wellesley Hospital.

Dermatologist: Dr. Alan Rockoff in Brookline  (617)  731-2390

Ophthalmologist:  Newton Wellesley Eye Associates in NW Hospital, we saw Dr. Bharat, who is amazing but has an age cutoff, doesn't see patients over it.  Others in the practice are great too, we see Dr. Anne Person now who is an optometrist.   (617) 964-1050

Allergist:  Dr. Lauren Handelman is terrific and I believe now has an office in Newton, (617) 765-0228.

Dentist

Well, we didn’t go to anyone that specialized in children.  Our whole family goes to Dr. Jyh-Shyan You (617) 969-5567.  Office is by Cold Spring Park in Newton Centre and he lives near the Newton South High School.

 

My son got his braces with Dr. Brian Miller in Newton Centre.

 

Ophthalmologist

Well, my kids went to see the Optometrist at Costco, Dr. Silbert ... but our own West Newtonite, Dr. Joanne Caruso may have some better recommendations.

Pediatrician:
We go to Pediatric Associates of Wellesley and have been happy there.  They are actually located very close to Newton, in Weston.
Dentist:
For dentist, we take our kids to Next Generation Dental http://www.ngdentalcenter.com/  Dr. Aaronson's has young kids and she has a special touch with toddlers.  We actually used to go to an office that specialized in kids but there the dentist did not seem to have a good rapport with toddlers so we switched.  Though Next Generation is a general family dental office, they have a big pretend dog with teeth that kids can brush, they can paint the kids' teeth purple to check for plaque, they have a prize bucket for after the checkup etc. Dr. Aaronson's resume is impressive.
I've also heard good things about Dr. Bhatt for optho.

I'll second the Pediatrics at Newton Wellesley. We've done very well with Dr. Pronchik and I also like Dr. Elkort. For pediatric ophthalmology Dr. Bhatt is universally recommended; we've seen her once and liked her, although it turned out to be a non-issue so we'd probably have done with anyone. I also second the dentist recommendation for Dr. Polanski, although my kids see Dr. Caravolas and we're satisfied. We also use that office for orthodontics.

Hard to go wrong with any of the docs at Pediatrics Newton-Wellesley:

Dr Qian Yuan has been the MD for both our kids (now adolescents) and he's been wonderful.  Shows interest in the whole child, beyond just the physical aspect.   On the occasions he was out the others have seemed great as well (Pronchik, Elkort... ).

Allergist:   Ann Wang-Dohlman, at NWH, is excellent, and a sweetheart.  A great listener, and though I'm far from a kid, I think her manner is well suited to working with them .

Eye doc:  you have plenty of recommendations already, but Mark Leibole at NWH has been very good with both the Tweens and adults in our family.  He tends to be heavily booked, however.

If by any chance anybody would like a recommendation for a primary PCP for adults in the area, a male, give me a shout.  The one I found a few years ago is the best I've ever had.  Good luck!!   Rene
