Just wanted to make sure everyone knows the due date for Vote by Mail ballots to be received at City Hall is close of business Nov 4, not the nonsensical date that went out to northside wards. (Corrected instructions will be sent out.)
Doing our part to keep the Postal Service solvent!

Mayor's Newton Update

Acting City Clerk Flynn is alerting us to two election related notices.

Correction to Vote by Mail Instructions

Residents in Wards 1, 2, 3 and 4 that received in the mail a Vote by Mail package with their ballot may have unfortunately received incorrect instructions regarding the deadline to return or submit their ballot.

The incorrect instructions stated that ballots must be received by March 5, 2024. That date is wrong.

All Vote by Mail ballots must be received by the close of polls on Election Day, Tuesday, November 4, 2025.

The Clerk’s Office is sending a correction notice to all residents who may have received the incorrect instructions.

A copy of that letter can be found here. The correct instructions are posted on the Elections website and can be found here

Change of Name of Polling Location at 191 Pearl Street

Please be aware that the polling location at 191 Pearl Street, previously the home of the Lincoln-Eliot Elementary School, is now officially designated as the Horace Mann Elementary School. There is no change in physical address or location of this polling place. Voters assigned to the polling place at 191 Pearl Street should continue to go to that address to cast their ballot on Election Day if they are voting in person on Tuesday, November 4. The letter being sent to voters assigned to this location can be found here.

Acting City Clerk Cassidy Flynn asks that you e-mail elec...@newtonma.gov or call the City Clerk’s Office at 617-276-1350 with any questions.
