It looks like we’ll be getting another winter wallop of snow starting this evening between 9 and midnight. The latest forecast calls for as much as two feet of heavy snow to fall in Newton before the storm ends Monday mid-day.

A Snow Emergency Parking Ban goes into effect at 5 p.m. today for all on street parking, and 9 p.m. for all Municipal Parking lots. (Municipal lots are staying open to allow parking for restaurants and shops in our village centers.)

No vehicles can be parked on the street, in municipal parking lots and school parking lots once the ban goes into effect to help our DPW crews and contractors safely and effectively clear our roads.

Cars will be subject to towing if they are left on the street or in parking lots.

Recycling and trash delayed by one day

Trash and Recycling Collection Delay

Trash and Recycling Collection will be collected on a one day delayed schedule starting on Tuesday.

We will be sending another update later today with more storm-related information including any potential closings and cancellations for Monday. Updates will also be posted on our website at newtonma.gov.
