Learn to cycle in 10 weeks - Community Service Project by Westgate Wheelers Cycling Club (WGW.)

 

As part of their Community/Social Responsibility and Development  Program, Westgate Wheelers Cycle Club (WGW),

active on the West Rand for 27 years, is offering their third 10 week “BEGINNERS CYCLE CLINIC”, from 27^th June 2015 to 29^th August  2015,

with the option on week 11 of participating in the 40km WILRO LIONS CYCLE CHALLENGE, on 6^th September 2015.

 

The objective of the Clinic is to instruct and train new/unskilled cyclists in the basics of safe, responsible and enjoyable cycling, and

WGW members will be embarking on a prospectus Cycle clinic journey with each participant, teaching various aspects of cycling.

Activities inside and out of venue are strictly monitored and each day participants are logged in and out, with WGW members in attendance.

Support documentation will be handed out during the clinic.

 

The clinic is open to all, under 12,s must be accompanied at all times by a responsible adult, and under 18’s require parental approval.

There will be no charge for the Clinic, and no obligation to join WGW Cycle Club;

all each participant has to have is a roadworthy Road/MTB bike and an approved cycle helmet.

 

On completion of the Clinic riders who have completed all 10 weeks will be given a Certificate of Participation,

and should they enter and complete the WILRO LIONS CYCLE CHALLENGE, they will receive a finishers Medal.

So the first weekend of the clinic has gone, and with the terrible weather on Saturday, the turnout was not good.

SO, if YOU still want to do the clinic, we will combine the various aspects covered in week1, with week2, and even if

you make it to week3, we can still combine the various lessons, theory, and practical, to enable YOU to participate.
