Hi Guys - Bill Koss was having a little trouble posting a message so he asked me to share this info about the passing of Walt Darcy - one of our own.

Walter A. Darcey, 86, of Tolland, passed away at home Friday, Dec. 17, 2021, with his son Tom by his side. Walter was the loving husband of the late Barbara (Kerkin) Darcey.
Walter was born in Rockville on June 11, 1935, the son of the late Thomas F. and Ora (Charter) Darcey. Walt was known for his unstoppable energy and inability to slow down, he was always on the go. He worked hard and played hard. He started a successful kitchen business, where his wife and son along with many other family and friends, worked by his side. He loved classic cars, playing cards, tinkering in the shop or garage, and was a passionate softball enthusiast. He played softball for most of his life, his last team was the Relics which he played with until recently. If not playing softball he was watching his granddaughter play at nearly every game, always in the same seat behind home plate. He enjoyed watching all of his grandchildren playing their sports baseball, basketball and even hockey. Walt was proud of his service in the Air National Guard. He loved to eat a meal at Mitchell's or New England Pizza. He enjoyed driving his 1956 Chevy on the first good day of spring. He enjoyed chatting on the porches of Martha's Vineyard, and got a kick out of driving Route 66 with Barb at his side. He could tell you a story about every kitchen he put in. He built his own home for his family. Their epic Christmas Eve and Fourth of July parties are the stuff of legends (visits from Santa and exploding watermelons). Red Sox for life.
He is survived by his son, Thomas J. Darcey and his wife, Amanda; and his grandchildren, Aidan, Brenna, Owen, and Will, of Coventry; and sister-in-law, Harriet Vernon Darcey; along with many nieces and nephews.
Services are postponed until it is safer for us to gather again.
In lieu of flowers and in remembrance of Walt's love of Ted Williams and all things Red Sox, donations in Walt's name can be made to the Jimmy Fund/Dana Farber Cancer Institute.
