Congratulations to Tom Nicholson and Synergy on their well-deserved BRT championship.

Without taking away from their achievement, however, I want to apologize to Tom Dunn and all the Desperados, and especially to Jose Rodriguez, for a blunder I made interpreting the courtesy runner rule at a pivotal point in the final Gold BRT game.  My decision ultimately resulted in Jose losing his turn at bat leading off the 6th inning, which may have affected the outcome of the game.

The Desperados played so well this season and, like every team, they really wanted  to win that game and the BRT.  It is unfortunate that their opportunity to win may have been affected by my mistake.

I hope to see you all again in the spring, if not sooner (i.e., the Christmas party on December 6).

One play doesn't make or break a game in the grand scheme of things.

Our umpires do a fantastic job.  They step up when others don't.  They face harassment from coaches, wanna be coaches and players and yet they keep the game moving forward.  Every team could probably find a call to question so it all evens out over the length of the season. I join Mike Dutton in thanking and praises them for their VOLUNTEER work to keep our league going.  Walter Stewart.

I must say I agree with the umpires doing a thankless job and  putting up with  the  belittling , harassment,  the bullying and STILL they do their best  to perform. We all need to take a little time to  think where would our league be without them. So the next time you’re on the field  and you have a  question/—. Remember   W: Where would we be without them.  Give them their  respect  that they deserve.   Thanks you UMPIRES and SCORE KEEPERS  forTHE THANKLESS    job you  do !!!
