At 10:45 P.M. on 04/08 the Springfield Police Departments, Narcotics
Division under the direction of Sgt. Neil Maloney and Martin Ambrose
arrested the following two suspects in the parking lot of McDonald's
at 360 Main Street in the "South End" of the city.
1) Glenn Hurst age 49 of 500 Hancock Street, Apt. A8, charges....
a) Trafficking in Cocaine 14-28 grams
b) Violation of a Drug Free School Zone (Zanetti School)
c) Poss. of a Class "B" Substance (Oxycodone) With Int. Distribute
4) Distribution of Class "B" Substance
2) James Zucco age 23 of 56 Springfield St. Wilbraham, MA, charges...
a) Poss. of a Class "B" Substance (Cocaine)
Surveillance officers were watching the parking lot of the McDonald's
for drug transactions. They observed a white 1996 Ford Explorer backed
into a parking spot in the rear of the McDonald's. Within minutes they
observed a drug transaction with another motor vehicle that pulled up
in the next parking spot. Several minutes later while the officers
still held the Explorer under surveillance they observed a blue Buick
pull into the lot. This time they observed Glenn Hurst sell cocaine to
James Zucco. After the sale the officer tailed Zucco to Rte. 291 where
they pulled him over and found the bag of Cocaine Purchased. Meanwhile
another team of narcs. tailed Hurst. they watched him pick up a
Prostitute and travel to State and East Columbus
where they pulled him over in traffic. He was arrested and the
officers found 16 grams of packaged Crack Cocaine, several pills of
Oxycodone and $1,151.00 in cash. the detectives also confiscated his
Explorer as evidence and a conveyance of narcotics. Both suspects will
be arraigned in Springfield District Court today. mug shots enclosed
