Officers Sean Condon and Jimmy Mazza arrested the following suspect at
the "high crime area" of Union and Orleans at 11:23 A.M. on
05/04 .........
Antonio Glenn age 19 of 119 Ashley Street, Springfield,
charges .......
a) Poss. of Crack Cocaine With Intent to Distribute
b) Violation of a Drug Free School Zone
c) Trespass
The above officers were checking the abandoned building located at the
corner of Union and Orleans Street for illegal activity. This building
has become a crime problem, attracting vandalism, prostitution, gang
related activity and drug dealing. As they approached they observed
Glenn leave the area and he observed the approaching police on foot.
Glenn panicked and pulled a plastic baggie from his pants and "ditched
it" hoping the cops were blind. The bag was quickly recovered and it
contained bags of Crack Cocaine packaged for sale. As luck would have
it the Crack Cocaine dealer was within 1000 ft. of the property at
Commerce High School. Glenn had $103.00 in cash on his person. mug

At 1:55 P.M. on 05/04 Officers Jose Robles and Daniel Murdock arrested
the following suspect for dealing Marijuana in the parking lot of the
"Racing Mart" at Main and Milton Street in the Indian Orchard section
of the city...
Michael Goncalves age 17 of 135 Lovoie Ave., Ludlow, Ma. charges ....
a) Distribution of a Class "D" Substance Marijuana
b) Violation of a Drug Free School Zone (Indian Orchard Elementary(
Prior to the arrest the above officer held under surveillance the
parking lot of the "Racing Mart". They observed Goncalves drive up
from the direction of Ludlow and park. The car was driven by
Goncalves. The little 17 year old drug dealer from Ludlow was on his
cell phone and waiting. A few minutes later a red Mazda pulled up. The
car contained a white male from Springfield. The officers observed
Goncalves deal a bag of marijuana to this subject. The cops moved in
and recovered the bag of marijuana from the buyer. it contained less
then an ounce so this lucky young man was issued an "Ordinance
Violation" and let go. The dealer was not so lucky..he was arrested
and is now facing two years in jail, mandatory time for acting like a
big shot. Lets hope he learned his lesson. mug shot enclosed
Officer Darrin Edwards and members of the "Street Crime Unit" were
serving warrants in the early morning hours on 05/05. At 6:00 A.M the
officers were attempting to serve an arrest warrant at 101 Lowell
Street apt. #909. One of the suspects they were searching for was
sleeping on the couch and he was arrested. The owner of the apartment
panicked and decided to try and flush down the toilet 41 bags of Crack
Cocaine. The drugs were recovered as they were circling the drain and
the suspect was arrested....
Hipolito Rodriguez age 22 of 101 Lowell Street, charges ...
a) Poss. of Cocaine With Intent to Distribute..mug shot enclosed
At 1:36 A.M. this date Officers were dispatched to the front of
102 Kenyon Street for reports of shots fired and for a male who has
been shot. The "Shotspotter" was also activated with five shots coming
from that immediate vicinity. The victim, Anthony Marsh age 18 of
Springfield stated that he was sitting in the drivers side of his 1999
Acura with two friends when he was struck by a bullet in the left
thigh area above the knee and another wound near the elbow. The car
itself was hit several times by gunshots. Investigators determined
that two suspects were about 75 yards away near Acorn Street armed
with a rifle. Empty bullet casings were recovered at the scene.
Witnesses stated that two young black males described as wearing black
hooded sweatshirts and white baseball cap had a rifle and shot towards
the 1999 Acura then fled on foot towards College Street. The victim
was transported to Baystate ER and was treated. The wounds are not
life threatening. The shooting is determined to be "gang related".
