This gentleman owned the Mountain Goat shoe store in Northampton for many years. He also led a very interesting life. If you have the time to go, it should be worthwhile.

Hello, everyone,

I wanted to let you know that there will be a talk about my late father, Sid Lipshires, on Monday, September 24th, at 6:00 p.m. at the Wistariahurst Museum in Holyoke, Massachusetts. The talk, which is described in this calendar, will be given by Blake Spitz, one of my archives classmates at the Simmons College library school.

Earlier this year, my brothers and I donated our father's papers to the UMass Amherst Special Collections and University Archives. Blake is the person who has organized and described our father's collection. A brief description of Sid's papers is already on the UMass website; Blake's longer description and biographical note should be placed there later this fall.

You may live too far away to attend the lecture, but here are some driving directions to Wistariahurst.
