Dear friends,

Bill Robson invites you to attend the Noordhoek Baroque Collegium in the chapel at his Noordhoek home. The purpose of Collegiums today as in the 18th century is to create an opportunity for musicians to play away from the stress of formal concerts just for the pleasure of playing the music to an invited audience - hence, the invitation is to players and listeners alike.

Audience members are welcome to bring and share snacks and drinks (please also bring your own glasses). Alternatively, we welcome cash donations towards catering expenses - our host's costs are typically R50/person.

The Collegium takes place on Sunday, 27 April, at 4 pm.

Directions
Go to the end of Oranje Rd, Noordhoek
(click here for a map), and enter the farm gate on the right. Follow the driveway to the Chapel at the far end of the property.

This month's collegium has to be moved to Saturday 24th, because of symphony orchestra commitments on Sunday.  The usual time, 4pm.

We will be hearing the famous 5-string 1707 cello-piccolo,  found in a dustbin in Paarl in 1975 and finally restored in 2005.  It is one of only three original cello-piccolos existing in the world from the baroque era.

Dear friends,

Some of you might already know about the next organ (and this time voice too) recital at Kommetjie Catholic church on Sunday 5th October 2025 – as part of a long-term organ maintenance project fund-raiser to keep Bill Robson’s magnus opus instrument in good shape and sound for generations to come. See attached poster and thanks for your support.

All the best

Patrick Dowling
