Dear friends,
After a long break we are finally able to restart the monthly Noordhoek Collegium!
As most of you know, the Noordhoek Collegium Musicum invites musicians and music lovers interested in baroque music to meet on the last Sunday of each month to enjoy "historically inspired" music in a congenial setting at Bill Robson's farmhouse, Weltevreden, in Noordhoek. We often have the benefit of experienced, expert musicians, but it is also an opportunity for younger musicians and enthusiastic hobbyists to participate.
During our long hiatus, Bill Robson has not been idle but has constructed the marvellous Weltevreden Chapel on the historical foundations of a 17th-century farmhouse that once stood on his smallholding. The chapel seats 60-70 people and promises to be a wonderful concert and wedding venue for the South Peninsula.
This coming Sunday, 31 July, at 3pm, you are cordially invited to attend the first Collegium to be held in the chapel, which will be its new home.
Please could you bring a bottle or a snack to share. Bill has also created a booklet about Weltevreden Chapel, which will be on sale for R50 per copy. Lastly, we welcome donations to help cover the costs of the Collegium.
Kind regards
Jens
