Last Week
=====================================================
Thanks to all of you who participated in the Westchester Jazz Jam's
trial run at Isabella's in Ossining. It was a great turnout, and the
level of musicianship was high. We were swinging from the rafters! A
few of us were even swinging from the lampposts outside by the end
(only kidding.)
But Isabella's seems like a hit. Everyone agreed the food is very
good (and it's not that common for a Westchester restaurant to please
lots of different people unanimously.) The parking was easy, and the
location is relatively convenient.
Inside, there are 3 rooms: the bar/ pizza room, the main dining room,
and the party room. We played in the party room, and once they turned
the lights down, it really felt like a night club!
Ossining has no live music scene right now and Dennis who lives in
Ossining is excited because it's only a stone's throw from his house.
Years ago, there was by-all-accounts a pretty happening live music
venue in Ossining which closed just months before he and Caroline
moved there about 5 years ago.
Even the Mike Risko Music School said they would try to support the
jam by hanging flyers in their school - thanks, Mike!

Sept. 10th
=====================================================
So we have decided to start the jam September 10th. Is this a bad
idea because school starts that week? We certainly hope not. We
wanted to avoid the Labor Day weekend, and we didn't want to wait 'til
the 17th because that's just too long. Besides that, the jam's 4th
anniversary is coming up in late September and we want to make sure we
have a new home fairly well rooted by then.
We realize we can't keep soliciting your presence without getting
annoying but it would be great if you could make it on the 10th to
show the owner that the turnout on the trial run wasn't just a one-
time thing.
We really appreciate your participation, always. Have a great rest of
the summer.
