This Week
=====================================================

NO JAM this week 6 August 09.

=====================================================
Next Week – August 13th
=====================================================

If you around please try to make it our TRIAL RUN at Isabella’s in
Ossining. If it is successful, we will start the weekly jam there in
September.

Isabella’s is an Italian Restaurant and Pizzeria. It is inexpensive
and delicious! There are 3 rooms that are all interconnected: the
pizza & bar room, the main dining area, and a private party room. We
will play in the party room, but the music will be heard all
throughout the place.

Ossining is centrally located to both northern & southern Westchester
and fairly convenient from the Tappan Zee. The venue is located
directly across the street from the Ossining Post Office so there is
plenty of parking. Dennis has been playing there solo on Fridays and
the owner really likes jazz. So please come if you can!

Next week’s house band will feature the return of Caroline Taylor on
drums & cymbals plus Mark Hagan on bass, & Dennis Winge on guitar.

Lyrics of the Week
=====================================================

YOU DON'T KNOW WHERE ONE IS
(Sung to the melody of "You Don't Know What Love Is")

You don't know where one is.
You never know the changes or the form.
Your playing is so far below the norm.
You don't know where one is.

You don't know what beats are.
You cannot tell beat one from that of three.
Just how lame can one poor fellow be?
You don't know where one is.

Don't you know the key or chords
For tunes that you claim you are knowin'?
No wonder you sound so lost
Once you've started blowin'.

I can't tell from your line
Whether you're in three or in five four.
I tell you this and tell you one thing more,
You don't know where one is.
