The University of Texas at Austin Choose Energy K-12 Outreach Program is excited to host the West Texas Energy Summit, a 2-day teacher workshop in Midland, TX. This workshop is designed for 8th - 12th grade STEM teachers.
At the West Texas Energy Summit, organized by UT Austin’s Choose Energy K-12 Outreach team, teachers will gain access to hands-on classroom resources focused on oil and gas and energy production. Resources are aligned with the 2024-2025 science TEKS standards. The workshop also includes industry field visits, providing teachers with a firsthand look at the engineering and technology utilized in the energy sector. Additionally, they will learn about the various career opportunities available within the industry. Teachers in the Midland-Odessa region are given priority to attend this workshop.
Workshop Details:
Wednesday, June 11 and Thursday, June 12 in Midland, TX.
Meals are provided
17 CPE hours provided to participants.
