West Texas Aviators:
A significant upgrade to “
A Pilot’s Guide to Aviation Weather Services” was published on October, 1 2020. The collaborative project was completed by a group of dedicated meteorologists from across the NWS, with input from other national agencies (FAA, NTSB), and pilot instructors. The guide covers forty-one different products and tools, from pre-flight planning to en-route products, to decision support services tools and aviation office social media accounts.
I hope that everyone is managing to stay healthy, proficient, and enjoying the VFR conditions that have been in abundance. Once the C-19 situation improves, I look forward to putting together another weather safety workshop. I suspect that this will probably not be before summertime, but as soon as we're given the green light, I'll get it on the books.
Nevertheless, if you ever have any aviation weather related questions / feedback, please feel absolutely encouraged to write me.
Happy flying, Merry Christmas, and Happy New Year
