Mentorship/Internship Program
March 2013
What is the Internship program?
A program whose goal is to help each person to discover their own life goals and calling in Christ in the context of Christian community. Remember A B C D.
What is the time commitment?
Each program will be designed with flexibility based on applicant’s/mentor’s availability and area(s) of interest.
What are the prerequisites for the Internship?
Write a One Page Personal Narrative documenting your journey of faith.
Complete the Culture Index Survey to consider and discover the way God wired each person, and review the results with Dr. Ben to personally tailor the program.
What are the basic requirements?
Write how you would financially support yourself and your (future) family.
Write what you perceive God’s will for you is at present and in the coming years.
Maintain regular Bible study with a mentor(s) to understand Basic Christianity.
Keep a weekly journal to document experiences, events and reflections.
Meet your mentor weekly to review goals/prayer requests/journal/questions.
Create 3rd Spaces/Safe Places for outsiders to come as themselves (without pretense).
Spend at least 10 hours of fieldwork connected to your selected area of interest.
Completion of the Program:
Share a presentation to West Loop based on your experience – what you learned, and what we can learn and pray for future direction.
All materials used, referenced, read and studied should be documented and maintained in a file for future reference for the intern/mentoree and future interns/mentorees.
